From St. Bernard's Academy

St. Bernard’s Academy sits in the heart of one of the most beautiful places in the world — 2018 Lonely Planet named California’s Redwood Coast, primarily Humboldt County, the #1 destination in the United States to visit. Our science department took over 140 field trips last year to take advantage of the learning opportunities just outside our door.

Our talented teachers love challenging students to make a difference in the classroom and in the community. Senator McGuire awarded St. Bernard’s “The Golden Can” award for our efforts collecting food for the poor.

We send our graduates to universities all over the country — from Yale to UC San Diego to the University of Washington to Humboldt State.

Students can earn college credit at SBA by taking College of the Redwood classes right on campus. Our advanced placement teachers will also prepare you for college credit scores on the AP exams.

Be a student leader, play multiple sports, act in a school play, and join your favorite clubs.

It has a very family oriented feel. Teachers are amazing, and go out there way to help you succeed! AP courses are offered and honors classes. The faculty and staff goes out of their way to personally know you, help you and put you on the right track to graduate. The academic courses prepare you for college and keep you on track to graduate high school with extra credits than required.

St. Bernard's offered me the perfect learning environment to excel in both academically and athletically. The values that were instilled during my high school years, are carried throughout my everyday life.
Saint Bernard's is an amazing school. I've gone here since kindergarten and have met so many great people here. Obviously, having gone to the school for so long, it feels like a family to me; but when a new student comes to the school, they are always welcomed in as if they've been there for their whole life, and that's one of the things that makes Saint Bernard's so special. Aside from that, since the classes are small, students get a lot of one on one interaction with teachers and are always able to ask for extra help if they need it. It's very safe- most people don't even bother to lock their lockers. Overall, SB is a great school full of great people.
