Saint Benedict Catholic School is Richmond's oldest parochial school providing the only Catholic and Classical curriculum for grades JK-8. Since 1919, we've been proud to serve generations of Richmond's families from our central location in the historic Museum District.

Both of my children graduated St. Benedict, having started in Kindergarten, and I'm so grateful for the experience my children have had - spiritually, academically and socially. Growing up is never a linear track for children, but I'm grateful that at SBCS, the teachers are so supportive and loving, attentive to parents as our kiddos grow and change, and the community is close-knit. It is a wonderful, faithfully Catholic, familial school community that my husband and I would choose over and over again for our children. And when my children went onto high school, both placed into all honors coursework at their selected high schools, and I attribute that to the amazing dedication and active support of SBCS teachers from the very start. Thank you SBCS! #alwaysacomet

Review St. Benedict Catholic School

Our family - parents and kids alike - have loved St. Benedict Catholic school. The faculty and staff are wonderful and work hard to keep focus on learning while keeping things fun. The teachers are warm and accessible with great communication - I know what is going on in the classroom, I know what my kiddos are learning and how they are doing, and if there are any issues it is easy to discuss with their teachers. The other families at the school are friendly and work together to support the school in clean up days and school events. We adore the school!

I am an alum K-8 (before we offered JK). I returned to teach & it was like coming home. I am entering my 28th year teaching at SBCS. The smallness of one class per grade allows for close collaboration with unit teachers and a stronger bond with the students. Because of this, students receive more individualized attention and learning needs can be readily understood and better met. SBCS also offers aide support to unit teachers and students. I would happily recommend this school for the above reasons.
