Highly challenging school and caring community. St. Anselm's will challenge the brightest minds, while providing a niche to explore many other varied interests. Small school translates to opportunity across the board... is not uncommon to see students cross between multiple sports, dramatic productions, and other extracurriculars. The Benedictine monastic presence is a huge asset, providing stability and values that promote education and life long learning. Caring and dedicated faculty. While St.. Anselm's is not for everyone, it has made all the difference for me. An indelible influence in my formative years and on my career since.

Without a doubt my time at the Abbey prepared me for a highly challenging college experience. The students share a real academic curiosity and desire to learn. The teachers are eager to share their knowledge and the monks enthusiastically share their faith. The school seamlessly integrates athletics, community service, and extracurriculars into one of the most academic demanding high school curricula you can find anywhere.
My son attended this wonderful school from 6th - 12th grade and blossomed both intellectually and socially. Most of the teachers are excellent and are good at making themselves available to the boys if they have questions after class. The curriculum is academically very rigorous and many of the boys, mine included, say they find college work much easier than their peers due to the excellent education they received at St Anselm's. It is an extraordinarily caring community where both my son and I made life-long friends.

This school is not for every boy, but if your son is bright & curious, there is no better place in DC.
