Southeast is more than just an amazing school it is a family that works to expose kids to endless opprotunities and experiences while pushing on the concept of striving to thrive. Before high school, I noticed many saw the school with negative opinions and derogatory ideals, but being a student here is completely different. No matter your race, socioeconomic background, etc Southeast pushes for all their students to suceed and find joy of of their lives. I never realized how much southeast cares about the well being of their students until my mom reached out for help when I endured a deep depression after the passing of my grandmother and my guidance counselor took the time to talk to me, set up an appointment with the school's social worker, and recommeneded me to outside therapists. Southeast notices that students endure many struggles within their homes, so they try their best to create a safe, free of judgement, and inclusive atmosphere within the walls of the school.

SE was a great school! All of my teachers were passionate and encouraging, and most of the other students were friendly and outgoing. Of course, as with any other high school, there were some not so friendly kids or cliques. I was always told though, that life is what you make it! Therefore, I made my high school life awesome! The best part, in my opinion, was the family I found in our show choir. We never really won anything huge or became known statewide, but we loved each other and encouraged one another like no other club I had ever seen! They helped make high school a little bit more bearable.
I liked the diversity of the students and teachers. Something that I would change are the ways the school rallies support from the community. The school has been able to garner support and funding to send students to a basketball game at state, yet students are discouraged from taking AP tests and classes because they cannot afford it. I want to see the school make a bigger effort in that direction.
