Some teachers were great, others were abysmal. Art and music programs were amazing while some of the academic classes were substandard. Has a pretty good ratio of kids getting into decent colleges though.
I enjoyed all of my classes and liked all of my teachers, but it didn’t have the best social atmosphere.
Springfield High School was very beneficial to me in the aspects of basic college knowledge and help. I believe that the school should provide more upper level/ dual enrollment classes to prepare the students that are planning on attending college. I do believe that not all of the teacher were the best that they could be and that had a huge effect on both students and the environment.
I enjoyed the theater program and the track team the most. I became heavily involved in both programs and was able to foster my strengths and weaknesses and have become a much better person from the opportunities that I have received from taking part in these programs.
Overall the school is good. The teachers are amazing and are always willing to help you out. The school also offers a lot of academics.
The classes are somewhat small. about 75% of the teachers care about what they are doing. The students come from varied backgrounds which can be challenging
Athletes are not committed. Teachers are not committed.
This school isn't great. Its a basic public school.
Some teachers are great. They go above and beyond to help students. But most teachers don't really care about the students, and are just bad teachers in general.
Springfield High School has so many opportunities. In my first year I was able to move classes around to get into a Senior art class. In my second year, they accommodated my want for French classes and Spanish. The faculty really do care about helping you get the classes you want, the sports and clubs you like, and they push you to do your best.
There are numerous opportunities for students who care to look for them. A majority of the teachers truly care, and the Administration is incredibly helpful and supportive.
SHS was once the glorious school that everyone across Vermont knew as the sports capital as the state. Due to a dropping population and a rising drug issue, the school and sports teams are going down fast. It's actually really sad, because the town is so full of people trying to make it the same as it used to be and no one can think about the potential it has as a newer town. There is so many smart kids in Springfield, my American Studies class was full of bright kids, but with the lack of challenging classes, the kids are getting bored and are falling behind like the rest. I just wished that SHS was more applied and cared. There is so much potential in that tiny town.
Springfield High school is not a bad school. The attitudes of the students is what brings down my feelings of the school. I wish that students thought more positive about the staffs decision and put more effort into school spirit.
I really liked being a part of the football team and the drama club.
variety, but only for the common denominator.
Favoritism on sports teams creates controversy.
