As a junior at Springfield High School I would say for the most it has been an amazing experience to go to this school. The music and arts teachers give the students ways to express themselves.
I can assure you that it is a very good school, the teachers are very kind and understandable and help you in whatever way you can, there is always some interesting school activity in the semester. It has various clubs, activities, and sports that other schools may not have. The school also provides a variety of college-level opportunities (dual-enrollment, AP classes). Many students are also open minded, so you will always find a group to fit into. If you are a good student and show dedication, the teachers and staff will very happily give you all the resources and opportunities they can. The academic load is not too high, or difficult. The only problem I see is the lack of high-level academic resources in the school zone. Besides that, a very good school.
The students and teachers here are great, but overall the physical school is not the best. Concrete and a lack of windows does not help student or staff morale, but I still like it here.
Though I gave it an average review, I do believe this school is great. The teachers are enthusiastic about their jobs and care for the students, and the classes and CTE's available are fantastic. Springfield HS's community and environment are supportive and something I enjoyed in my 3 and 3/4 years there.
Springfield high school is one of 2 public high schools in Springfield Oregon. It has a decent selection of different types of classes, an amazing selection of health science classes and teachers that truly care about there students. I do wish the school was built as an indoor school because sometimes when you are walking between classes you get rain dumped on you.
Springfield has phenomenal theater, and choir programs. We are very respected in the community as one of the best choirs in the state. Our theater program puts together shows as professional-sometimes more professional- as college programs. We honor the script, and in the time I have been here, done the play justice, and made it worth watching.
My experience at Springfield High was a relatively positive one. Most of the teachers I had tried to be as helpful as possible, and even though I wasn't the best student most tried to be understanding. The Miller Mart is a neat little thing they have going and so is the Coffee Cart where you can go and get a nice warm coffee or if you feel fancy an Italian soda.
i love the learning environment, but i’d love to see the school spirit evolve an turn into something really positive instead of negative.
The thing I love about Springfield High School is all of the accepting people and the music classes there. They could improve by getting better freshman teachers overall.
Springfield High School offers a variety of classes to prepare students for life after high school. There are elective classes that give students a taste of different careers. The performing arts department, includes award winning chorale, bands, orchestra, and theater. The medical professions program, prepares students for employment opportunities in the medical field. Starting this year students can earn their CNA ( Certified Nursing Assistant) license while in high school as well as a variety of hands on training. The teachers at Springfield High are dedicated to inspiring and assisting students to achieve their goals and succeed in life. Athletic programs are top notch and inspiring. Overall, Springfield is a very well rounded and balanced experience. This past years student experience even included the student body coming together to break a Guinness Book of World Records for the most high fives given in one minute. I highly recommend Springfield High School.
The school was an average high school. The staff were great but our principle kept changing so it was never constant. They do offer honors but thats about it. We did not Ivy League or AP classes.
Teachers are great and students are nice, but there can be quite a bit of fighting with students. The teachers handle the fights well, and they end as quickly as they begin.
Great principal, friendly staff and teachers. Sports teams were moderate. Diverse student body and lots of clubs/programs. Offers tons of college credit courses. Only disappointment came from the lack of student support for after school activities and sporting events.
The High School is great most of the staff are really kind the classes are great and the people you meet are greater.
It’s a good school, with an overall good environment. The “Miller Mart” can be sort of a mess sometimes and the tardy policy still sucks though.
Most of the teachers are nice and the classes feel quick. Wish it would be rebuilt because there’s no windows
SHS is a unique school in that it represents so many aspects of any person who may go there. Many diverse cultures have the ability to be represented in the Multicultural Student Association, while the school provides for CTE work and careers. Clubs regarding health, such as our SODA (Students Opposed to Drugs and Alcohol) Club and Operation H2O meet once a week as well. There is a lot this school has to offer!
