Springbrook high school was a very diverse school filled with all types of people and backgrounds. I made friends with people from all over the world and learned about different foods, music, and languages I have never even heard of! In addition to that, the school was so small so I felt like everyone knew each other and the environment was very tight-knit. Teachers took their time to get to know students and were always available after school if anyone needed help. On the downside, the school was pretty messy. There were lots of roaches and mice crawling around but over the years, it became less frequent. Overall, I had a good experience at the school

Coming into any high school is terrifying. Wondering if you'd fit in, if you'd have any friends or if the teachers would like you. Springbrook Highschool is a IB school. Something else that is special about Springbrook is the diversity. At Springbrook high, you are able to meet students from all different backgrounds. Different cultures, races, ethnicity. I love the fact that I'm able to be in a school with so many peers with different backgrounds. It helps me become open-minded, and allows me to learn more about different cultures! Being apart of sports and clubs is also another thing I love. When in sports and clubs, I feel proud to be representing Springbrook high school and I think thats the best feeling. Many times people doubt and look down on our High school but I think we can prove them wrong. Especially when it comes to sports, other schools tend to doubt us. No matter win or lose we stand up and wear Springbrook on our Chests proudly!
In all honesty, my time at Springbrook thus far hasn't been as terrible as everyone seemed to think it would be. But that is only because I work my hardest to excel in school. One of the biggest problems with the school is how the teachers only help and focus on students who are already doing well. This means the top 10% gets all the opportunities and support that need to succeed. This leaves everyone else falling farther and farther behind. This may be due to the lack of resources the school has access to (the school is very poorly funded by the county), which would leave only a few opportunities to give, but also many of the teachers seem to lose hope in students that don't prosper from the very beginning. This is how it is at many schools, but because of the lack in funds and resources, the situation is far worse.
