Hello! I attend the IB program at Spring Valley Highschool. I'm part of the first group going currently going through the diploma program. I had a exciting time at Spring. For the most part, I enjoy all my classes. I enroll in a special class call Avid (advancement via individual determination). It was a course that prepared you for college. Although some people didn't enjoy it, I did. It was a nice break from my core classes. In 10th grade we were required to do our personal project for the IBDP. We have about 9 months to do it. If your interested about our project check on the website sevanoland. It was created by our English teacher and has our project there. In my current year (11), we been working on our extended essay, CAS, our FOA, IOC pratice and IA(internal assessment). This year was definitely harder than last year.

Being in the first graduating class of International Baccalaureate students at my school, I've seen a shift from an average to an extremely high achieving school, not just from the students, but from the teachers. If you ask almost any student, they will tell you they're involved in at least 1 or 2 extracurriculars. We currently have at least 3 National Board certified teachers and a couple more waiting for their certifications. We have the AVID program which helps with the college admissions and scholarship process, offer CTE credit which focuses on practical skills, the IB program which is accepted by colleges worldwide, as well as AP classes. The student involvement is very high and there are students making real impacts in our community. While there are certain aspects that can be improved upon, my experience has shaped me into someone outgoing and ambitious. Spring Valley High School has prepared me for college in more than just academics, but as a person
I like this school because it is very unique. We are an AVID demonstration school and we provide numerous amount of resources in helping students for their future. The teachers are helpful, and they are very generous when it comes to extra help. There are a numerous amount of clubs and activities that students are open to. The music and arts programs are phenomenal and decorate our school for any spirit week. This school is focused in helping students better themselves and make them feel good. I can proudly say that this school made me feel more open and connected to my friends and family. It is a great school for any students to achieve high school years.
