Spring Valley holds "a tradition of excellence" like no other school. What I like most about the Valley is getting to know a lot of other students who came from disparate backgrounds. The large diverse population ha cast a huge effect on the school culture, as well as the variety of clubs and intramural programs that the school offers to help support the community.
The staff here is pretty great, too! Some of the teachers that I have here are really cool and are willing to help me succeed and prepare for college.
What I enjoy the MOST here are the athletic programs. I was given the opportunity to participate on one of the best track & field teams in South Carolina (maybe the nation). This school takes its winning tradition very seriously. (Especially on Homecoming Friday during Football season.)
One thing I would change here is the availability of food. Spring Valley is a HUGE place. The more food, the better. Other then that, Spring Valley's a perfect place for the average student.

What I enjoyed about the natural of going to Spring Valley High and being a Viking is that they accepted you for who you are not only as a student but a human being, someone who has a mind, body, and soul. No matter your circumstance, the background you came from, what you wore to school, how you articulated yourself; they accepted and let alone embraced your presence on the school. The faculty and staff members didn't want you to change. If they did, they wanted you to change for the better of yourself and spread your unique personality on the school and throughout the District. Overall, it was quite an honor to be apart of a school that showed such gratitude, class,
a certain level of character, and dignity not only to themselves but just
to anyone that walked in and out of the doors of Spring Valley High School. What I took from the school is just being able to grow, become independent, and most importantly share my light upon someone else's darkness.
I really enjoyed my time at Spring Valley. The academics are excellent, and I was so well prepared for college leaving this school. There were so many extracurricular activities to get involved in! The diversity and acceptance of the student body was something that I really respected. The only problems I ever found with the school was the nature of some of the school policies and the strength with which they were enforced by administration (i.e. dress code, etc.).
