COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:
We are fully open this fall! Spring Street worked hard to expand the campus, administer school-wide testing, and put safety protocols in place to safely open for in-person classes. Yes, we are wearing masks inside classrooms, and seminar tables have been replaced with desks 6 feet apart, but we can say goodbye to Zoom and hello to being together! Now excepting applications for 2021-22. Learn More

I've had the pleasure of visiting Spring Street several times and I always leave impressed. I was invited to be a guest speaker for their Environmental Systems class and was really inspired by the students' engagement in the subject matter. They asked such thoughtful questions and gave meaningful critiques. Their teacher was clearly dedicated to their education and growth.
During another visit, I was able to learn more about their fantastic hands-on film production classes from the film instructor. He has built a wonderful classroom and studio for the students to work out of for their productions.
The Spring Street students are so lucky to have such dedicated teachers and to be so well-immersed and engaged in their subjects!

I could not imagine a better place for my children. The school teaches students first and classes second - they adjust the curriculum to each individual rather than fitting them in a predetermined box. My daughter studies math at three years above her grade level because that is where she needs to be. My son, who loves history, doubled up on history because that is where his passions lie. What sets SSIS apart is how it focuses on cultivating meaningful relationships between teachers and students. The school begins with a 5-day backpack to the Cascades where students connect with each other and make friends of all ages, dropping the facade that most adolescents use to navigate school and connect with who each of them really are. I feel so lucky to have my kids here, interacting with peers from Rwanda, India, China, and the Northwest. Teachers who care, students who are kind, smart, and engaged, and a safe and supportive community! And they have a killer Theatre program!
SSIS offers a product that's in high demand but otherwise not available; high quality personalized private education without being a self-esteem attacking competitive hamster-wheel.
SSIS meets kids where they are.
I can't imagine any other school for my two boys. We, like many others, moved here solely for the school and we absolutely did the right thing.
I honestly feel bad for all the children that aren't able to attend SSIS. Especially those really bright and wonderful students who might not thrive in public school chaos.
Don't hesitate to investigate further!
