Sprague High School I would say is overall average high school. There were teachers who you would connect with immediately, and it was a joy to participate in their class. Other teachers were not as thoughtful and caring as they could've been, and didn't meet the students needs. The AP program is stressed heavily at Sprague High School, and almost felt expected of you to take the upper level classes. I thoroughly enjoyed the sports program at Sprague, having participated on the tennis team. In my experience, it was welcoming, and supportive of anybody who wanted to join. There was an attempt to keep up school spirit, and there is an amazing program that allowed kids with disabilities to participate in sports and music like everybody else. Academics wise, I felt as if I was learning information that I would never need in college; it was almost more challenging than what I imagine college would be.

I enjoyed the classes I took while at Sprague High School. I wish they would prepare students more for success in college though. Great teachers, but small classrooms. The environment was average for a high school, but the leadership group made many posters to post around the school for special activities happening around the school. Many people came to and supported sports games and concerts as well as plays held at the school. I wish it was easier for students to get in contact with their advisors was easier though. There were many groups and sports for students to join that created a nice community environment, but I saw that some of the costs were too high for some students. The school's diversity was lacking but I believe that was due to the area where the Sprague High School was located and not because people didn't want to attend.
I've gone to Sprague High School for all of my High School experience and though I'm not impressed with every aspect of the school, I do like it. In terms of teachers, there have certainly been a few I've strongly disliked but overall most of them are very good. My AVID teacher (Advancement Via Individual Determination / College Readiness) is the best teacher I have ever had by far. The academics are really good, depending on what class and teacher you're assigned to. The school has a lot of opportunities in terms of student engagement and has a great deal of work to get to a good place, there. There is often a disconnect between teachers and students, and a majority of the current students create a toxic environment. The food is not good, and lunches are very crammed. Overall, Sprague excels in sports and academics, lacking in all other areas (despite a few exceptions).
