Spanish River Community High School is a great high school to go to! The staff is very enthusiastic about teaching and the students and pep rallies are often held so all students feel included. One change I'd like to see is the diversity in the types of clubs and focus they offer. Spanish River mainly focuses on the sciences, especially the medical field, in their clubs and Academies(specialized teaching). I would like to see some more areas of study be added or also give more classes for those who are interested in other fields such as film-making, law/criminology, scientists, etc. Overall, however, Spanish River Community High School is a pleasure to be a student at.

Spanish River Community High School, haunting yet bittersweet. Truthfully my experience has gradually deteriorated as my education progressed. The school itself is rather filthy, being littered with trash, cockroaches, and dead rats lying along the sidewalk. Being an art student throughout the entirety of high school, I can visibly see how little the administration (or the district as a whole values the artistic capabilities. The art program is ridiculously underfunded if funded at all. Although the school does have its mishaps, the teachers here are truly wonderful, with the exception of few who noticeably have a distaste for children. While I most likely will never look at my high school years fondly, the academic fluidity and the most wonderful teachers truly make it worth it. Through the communication of these teachers, I have possibly received the best guidance I have ever needed which helped me pursue what I will today. And just by that, it makes it all worth it.
Compared to other schools in Palm Beach County, the education provided at Spanish River is quality. As long as one sticks to AP and AICE classes-- and prepare yourself for the challenge-- the school will properly push you into a competitive atmosphere. My only complaint rests with the guidance counselors, who weren't necessarily useful for me throughout my high school career. As a senior this year and going into university, the advice was somewhat lackluster, especially when I was applying out of state. Overall, my experience was great; I made amazing friends, had plenty of opportunity through the American Law and History Program, and was happily challenged academically all four years.
