Spain Park High School Reviews
Rating 4.15 out of 5 282 reviews
I had the best four years at Spain Park. As an immigrant it was very easy for me to find a group and connect with other students. The school made me feel welcomed, and administrator helped me with everything. I had the best time at football games, pep rallies, dances, and more. The academic opportunities are wide!
I am currently a Senior at Spain Park High School. I enrolled in the school the second semester of my Sophomore year. It was very challenging for me because I was coming from a very small private, Christian School where I had been since 5th grade. I hated leaving my friends, basketball and all things familiar. Spain Park has almost 2000 students whereas my previous school had barely 200. I was So nervous and unsure of myself. Unfortunately, I was there for less than 3 weeks before the pandemic hit and the world shut down. Virtual learning was OK but I didn't have a chance to meet many people. It wasn't until my Junior year that I felt some sense of normality despite masks and social distancing once school started. Fortunately, I got accepted into the District's Cybersecurity program, met new people and formed relationships with my teachers and peers . Overall, Spain Park is a great school with many opportunities for any type of student. I am glad that I changed schools!
Spain Park has a majority of excellent teachers, especially in advanced classes, who are passionate about teaching. For students, there are many options the configure their schedules to align with goals. Classes like business academy, welding, music theory, engineering, fire fighting, forensics, and computer science allow students to explore their interests before spending money on a college degree. Additionally there are many clubs to allow students to express themselves in different ways like GSA (gay-straight alliance), book club, diversity council, and E-sports. If you are looking to play football, don't go here. The football team is awful. However, all of the other sports like bowling, wrestling, volleyball, and soccer have had substantial success. Overall, Spain Park is an academically-focused school that gives students a wide range of options to fully discover and develop their interests.
