Southwest Miami Senior High School is, by far, the best public high school in all of Miami-Dade County. It is the perfect integration of high-quality academics and the quintessential high school experience. With a wide range of classes, sports, and clubs to choose from, students can build their own school experience based on their aspirations and interests. If I had to describe Southwest in one word, I would say "balanced". Far from being average, Southwest meets or exceeds expectations in all areas. Students searching for a friendly environment, lots of school spirit and activities, but also high level academics, should come to Southwest.

The environment and the interaction with other students and the university community. Meeting people of different characters, backgrounds, religions, and ethnicity. It's always fun hanging out with friends and listen to people telling me about themselves.
What I liked most about school were those great teachers who were actually passionate about their classrooms and students. They are one in a dozen and fortunately, I had been lucky enough to be part of their classrooms.
The freedom and the opportunity to express myself in different capacities by taking up some leadership positions, volunteering with a couple of friends were also a great experience.
Attending Southwest Miami Senior High School, was one I will remember forever and one day tell my future kids all the stories and great memories I made. Southwest isn't like every school in south Florida, we are a family, we are one. Everyone treated you no less than another. I was very thrilled and had the pleasure to be apart of the Varsity soccer team for all four years of highschool, the staff were always at the game even teachers not just the principle but actual teachers came out to support their school and I even was Student Council VP, where I got to bond with the staff immensely. Every teacher that I came across taught me valuable lessons, they pushed me to the very best of my capabilities. They never wanted to see any of their student struggle, they helped. And they helped you sometimes on a personal level, if you had troubles at home, Southwest is truly a family, and a home to me that I will never forget. As our slogan goes, "We are always one family, One eagle Nation."
