I enjoyed Southwest high school for several reasons. This school is newer and updated, clean, bright, and secure. There is plenty of parking. However, getting in and out of the parking lot during arrival and dismissal hours can test ones patience.
Here are two main reasons I selected to go to Southwest High School.
1) Southwest High School offers a block schedule. I like this schedule as I only would have 4 subjects to worry about each term. The class time are longer which allows for study time in the class so there is less homework. The block schedule also accelerates how many credits you earn. This way a student can graduate earlier than students in traditional scheduled schools.
2) Lincoln Southwest has several clubs and sports to join. I am not the athletic type so I joined the trap shooting team. This has become a very popular sport.
I enjoyed my 4 years at Lincoln Southwest. I’d have no problem recommending this school!

You could not ask for a more diverse school ! Wow! This school offers something for everyone: whether you are interested in sports, the theatre, arts or music to name a few there is an activity or club. There is no reason a student should go to school from 8:00 -3:00 and just be a student. It is so easy to get involved. I have also noticed that most students genuinely support each other. A great place to learn and to have fun!
Southwest has an excellent staff of passionate teachers, and opportunities for students who are dedicated in the academic field, thanks to its block scheduling. The facilities in use are incredible, and incredibly kept clean as well as ready to use. There are an abundance of clubs and activities to choose from, and many friends of mine have created the clubs absent, with full support of the administration and sponsors here. Southwest also offers advanced placement classes that no other school in LPS are able to. The school culture is not excellent, as multiple cliques and exclusive groups are formed from sports, clubs, and the music department. Diversity is a severe problem in this school, and not many steps have been taken to make the environment acceptable to everyone.
