Southwest High School was an enjoyable school to be at. There were always teachers willing to help students solve problems, and were usually flexible. Many of the teachers I had tended to change schoolwork/assignments depending on what was going on in the world. Sometimes if major events happened, the topic/work could have something to do with it. The school also had a variety of enjoyable classes. I had access to classes like 3D Animation, Biotechnology, Pre-Calculus, AP World History, and Law and Justice. With classes like these I was able to explore different fields of study to find what I was interested in. Not only that, but the other students were usually respectful and friendly. Even if students weren't friends, they could still treat them as one in a moments notice. Many students also knew when and when not to get involved in certain events. Students could easily be given space and support when necessary.
I love southwest, the teachers are super cool, they all know how to do their jobs, everyone makes you feel safe, and welcome when you walk through the doors. It doesn’t matter, what race, gender, religion, or sexuality you are, you can walk into Southwest and it’s a home away from home. One of my favorite teachers Mr.Rockstroh, he runs the choral department, and he makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk into the music room, if you need someone to talk to, about issues at home, a situation with a friend, or you simple wanna just talk music, he will sit and listen. If I could change anything I don’t think I would. I personally have had a good positive experience all my four years at Southwest, and if everyone had a chance to go enroll in this school, I definitely think they would enjoy their experience as well.
The teachers at Southwest High School really care about their students' success. I have a personal relationship with every one, and there are several teachers I've gone to with problems at home, work, and school. I believe the school could improve on different types of classes. For my senior year, I signed up for several AP classes that will not be offered due to the number of students who signed up. I think those classes should be offered, regardless of the number of kids in them. Every student deserves the opportunity to keep learning.
