I am about to embark the most important year of high school other than senior year, and that is junior year. In the past two years, I have experienced some amazing teachers and the students who graduate are going on to amazing things and recently the class of 2018 has raised over 10 million dollars in scholarships, which was a huge improvement. However, I would like to see more disciplinary action take place, because I feel like some students are getting away with things that they should not be and the authority is not noticing, so I would like our staff to be more aware of students' actions. Other than that, Southwest is the place to be!

Southwest High School is the place to be! My freshman year was better than I expected them to be from middle school. I always thought high school was like school in tv shows and movies, but Southwest High School was nothing like that. The staff and students brought me into an environment that helped me through tough personal times and educational challenges I've faced. I've gotten along with SO many students, teachers, and counselors and I will never forget them following my graduation!
My high school experience at Southwest High School was mediocre socially but negative academically. Starting my freshmen year through my senior year, I can count the number of good teachers who were passionate about what they were teaching. I personally feel that Southwest lacks in a lot of areas academically and need major improvements in the teaching department. As a student, I expected to learn something I can carry with me throughout the rest of my academic journey and beyond. Instead classes were based on material soley based for STAAR testing that I have not once put to use again.
