Southwest Christian High School Reviews
Rating 4.53 out of 5 134 reviews
Overall this school is very good. On the academic side, it is very good with teachers who actually care about what they teach and the students they are teaching. The Biblical teaching here is also very good. It is definitely not in your face like many Christian schools are stereotyped, but taught in a way that is meaning full and helpful to guide students toward a lifelong relationship with God. Although the environment is good, it is a much smaller school than your average school, but that is not a bad thing. The activities here are limited, but overall enjoyable experience. Sports are average at this school, but they have definitely shown upside these past few years, and with a new expansion on the way, they will make leaps towards more championships. If you are looking at this school this is definitely a school to choose because of the lifelong experiences and lessons you will learn here.
At first, I was not a fan of this high school, but that was largely due to my freshman immaturity and ignorance. The teachers are all over-qualified to be teach high schoolers, but stay out of a genuine care and interest in the students. Many of my teachers are much closer to my friends than just a person I see at school. The administration is kind, generous and does its job well. The school culture does struggle a bit with passivity and being a fake, but for the most part, the students are good people and are largely welcoming to newcomers. There is a lack of diversity, however. It is a private school in a very white dominant, suburban area, after all. However, the school culture is open to everyone and strives to be welcoming. I have definitely enjoyed my time here and would recommend the school to anybody.
Southwest Christian Highschool is a great school that offers opportunities for everyone. Southwest is a college prep school that aims to prepare students for college and the real world. The teachers at Southwest are some of the best teachers I have ever had because of the amount of care and intentionality towards me and my peers. I have met my closest friends here who all share a deep love towards God and growing in him. I do not have anything to change about this school, it has so many opportunities and is so diverse that any change that would happen would just be negative.
