Southside high school is a great school. The teachers and staff care about you and your success in school and want the best for their students. I had excellent teachers throughout my four years of high school. Southside has given me many opportunities since I walked onto the campus for the first time as a freshman. Southside gave me the chance of a lifetime by joining the early college program. Thanks to Southside, I will be able to receive my Associate's degree in high school. Southside has many more excellent programs for students to get involved in. Southside is not just a high school; you build a second family.
I like it's diversity! In addition to appreciate multiple cultures, Southside also encourages everyone to respect and learn more about the different cultures of our classmates in order to be more familiar with how our school got started and where our roots come from. There has been a raise in respect that Southside has appointed to the students. They have raise their standards in keeping the students safe and taking into account the three pillars we stand by; being respectful, being responsible, and being safe. Safety is number one in the eyes of the Southside faculty, which creates a positive aroma around the campus, allowing the students to feel secure and not worried that there will be any caused danger to them.
There are many fight and threats, so it is a relatively unsafe environment if you haven’t grown up there. If you have it is the normal and isn’t that scary. The administration does nothing for the students and only cares about teachers. The people are okay and everyone knows everyone. The teaching is average and the ones who actually care about school are normally really smart compared to the rest.
