My experience at Southern Maryland Christian Academy was a life changing experience. At Southern Maryland Christian Academy, I've fallen in love with the community there especially since my previous school lacked a community of similar caliber. Everyone I have encountered in the school have always brought something spectacular to the table as we all treat each other as one family. I have to praise Southern Maryland Christian Academy for its excellent community. On the academic side of the spectrum, Southern Maryland Christian Academy has the benefit of small classes. With these smaller classes I have been able to get my questions answered with ease. However, this school suffers due to its lack of dedicated programs especially in middle and high school for example; there are no dedicated music programs nor as of this school year, an AP Physics class. Because of this, I feel like I haven't I gained the full benefit learning more about the career I would like to peruse.

Student Life: I would suggest you would be wise in your choices. Friendliness is not lacking at the school, but that does not mean tensions will not happen.

Academics: SMCA offers two amazing teachers who know their subject on STEM courses. Liberal Arts are the majority of course study in the school, but that is a majority in Charles County. If you want to remember your work, I recommend the student focuses on AP and DC courses. Capstone is a required course for seniors and it is unpaid.

Gym: SMCA offers a small gym combined with classes in the corridor of the hallway on the northwestern wing. The mess hall was moved to the gym where a large gray mat can be seen that protects the gym floor.

Security: The school is covered with cameras and locks. However, an aggressor will not be dismayed by glass windowed doors and much less the locks on the doors. With overflowing policies and cameras, it all breaks trust between the student and administration. Better solutions exist.
I have had my children in SMCA from preschool through high school. What I love about this school is the family feel, best practices education and Christian world-view application in every subject. Graduates that have been at the school for their entire education receive a lot of scholarships for their four year colleges! I am thankful for that too!
