I am currently a senior at Southaven High School, and I have attended Southaven schools all my life. I've enjoyed my years at Southaven High because most teachers really do care about the students' educations. There is also a wide variety of extracurriculars to be a part of. Regardless of what club, sport, or group a student joins, he/she is guaranteed to fit in somewhere. We are also the second largest high school in Mississippi, which can be a good or a bad thing, but our staff has become very good at managing such a large group. Southaven High School is just a good environment overall!

Southaven High School is fun and full of life well at least to me it was. None the less SHS has it’s problems just like any other high school. The cafeteria food was not always great. There were some principles and teacher who took their job alittle to serious. Also just like every school there was some bullying. All those things are a typical high school. What makes my school different is our field days (very fun day filled with bounces, music, and hotdogs) I aware that the event sounds childish but don’t we all want to go back to our early days! SHS also gives you pizza if you come to school everyday. Not just any pizza they get Dominos Pizza. Please do not let me get started on the teachers they definitely go above and beyond to help you and make sure you are in a safe learning environment and they do much more that could probably take up 1000 pages of words. And that’s why my school gets a five stars rating.
As a student of 4 years at Southaven High School, my experience has been nothing short of a journey. I am forever grateful for the opportunities and care that has been provided for me to be a better person and a better student. The quote “It takes a village” really applies to high school, the staff and administrators are really stressing the importance of education as they should, also they are selfless and caring to all students. Finally, I have received the best help and education I need to move on to college.
