My experience at South Warren High School was decent. As a Latina student, I was an naturally outcast, but not for long, because the staff members and most of the students were charismatic. Thankfully, most of my worries from high school were from academics rather than senseless drama. The academic world of South Warren was difficult because there was an abundance amount of intelligence within our community, but I am grateful for it because I am prepared for college. In contrast, I do wish that South Warren would enhance their safety policies. Because my uncle was murdered with a gun, I immediately struggled to continue going to school as it had two school shooting threats during this year. I believe our school should begin a new drill or class that practices self-defense or what to do in these kinds of situations, so students and staff will feel better knowing what is happening and how to protect themselves. Overall, my experience at South Warren prepared me for the real world.

South Warren is a school where if you want to do something, you can find a way to do it. Teachers and administrators are always willing to help one succeed, whether you're wanting to start a new club or prepare yourself for your future. South Warren is a cliquey school, however, it is also a school where students are accepting and inviting of others. Students will transfer to South Warren because they struggle fitting in at other schools. Soon after being at South Warren, one would never suspect those students to have struggled to find friends at past schools.

Warren County Schools are amazing academically in general, but I believe South Warren is the best out of all the schools in the district. My senior year I wanted to take AP Physics in order to better prepare myself for my future in engineering, and although interest was low, our administrators found a way to offer the class simply because eight students out of over a thousand expressed their strong desire for the class.
South Warren has been great overall, but there are many things that the school could do to improve. For instance, the scheduling is on "block scheduling", which makes it very difficult for upper-level courses like AP to finish the content on time and effectively teach it to the students. This also puts pressure on the students, but besides that, SWHS is a great school with great faculty, teachers, and students!
