It was pretty good. They take the dress code to seriously and should make some arrangements with that. Also I think there should be a sign language or more foreign language classes.
I liked how I was able to meet new friends and new fun teachers. My junior and senior year i was also able to go through a program called High School Connections which allowed me to gain some college credits at the same time. The pep rallies are the most fun because each grade goes against each other in games. A few things that should change is that kids should have breaks during school to interact with other students instead of just waiting at lunch. The school should bring back opportunities when juniors and seniors were allowed to leave for lunch or either parents where allowed to drop off fast food to their kids at the front office.
I started going to South View in 2017 and I’ll be graduating in 2021. The last 4 years have been very eventful especially with the pandemic. This school lost two stars due to the lack of communication between the students and the counselors and the building is really old so everything is broken. I would email my counselor to ask for a transcript and they would respond in the next week if I wasn’t pushing the issue. This was really stressful when I started doing dual enrollment and I almost wasn’t signed up for classes because they never sent in my application. The school has great teachers and staff but I just think the training for new staff needs to be revised. The safety of the school is pretty secured, we have sheriffs and gates around the school. We have had some school shooting scares but non in action.
This school was probably the best time I've had since being in high school. I only had the chance of attending my senior year, but I wish I could of did the whole four years. Teachers were awesome, people were friendly, and the coaches for sports were on point. I would recommend any parent to allow their child to go here.
My school is a nice school with nice teachers. The teachers can teach very well and always respectful to the students. I would like the school to have more school events because my fellow classmates don't have school spirit.
I love the teachers and I believe that the teachers are sufficient in how they teach the students. Although the teachers are great, the students not so much because there is a lot of drama and the students almost always fight. Some of the students, on the other hand, are so intelligent and love to engage in the school clubs. A lot of our sports are very good and love to win. Our band, chorus, flag girls, and dancers are also very talented.
In South View HS everyone is a family. There's a very rigorous IB program that many students are in & a variety of classes that can push students towards their future careers. For instance, the health program. Allows students like myself, who want to pursue a career in medicine but want a better perspective of what it will possibly be like. South view is an amazing school with teachers who really want to see growth and success from their students.
South View High School teachers are possibly the worst part about this school, from personal experience of being a student there. They have several new teachers every year, which they often have to fire within the same year or the year after, due to things like flirting with students or just not teaching efficiently. The students and faculty are diverse, so that is very good.
It is a pretty good school with exceptions of some kids making it look bad and some teachers making the high school experience painful even if you show them respect. Also a lot in the bathroom there is no tissue sometimes, most of the time no soap, and every blue moon you see paper towels. The principal engages a lot with the school.
As a rising senior, I truly enjoyed the school. Despite some of the fights that occur and arguments with faculty, there are some great qualities. There is an IB (International Baccalaureate) program, and it's constructive toward your academic goals. It's a highly recognized program with enthusiastic, motivational, and kind teachers that want nothing more than for you to succeed. South View is a police/security-based school, with multiple classes you can take online, on campus, or off-campus in a community college to fulfill your graduation requirements. There is so much school spirit, and sports are highly encouraged. We have traditional volleyball tournaments and a fantastic student section during football season. Once you learn your way around the school, it is straightforward to navigate where you are going, along with the quickest way to get there. I recommend South View High to anyone in the area!!
Although decent, South View is not the best school in the county- by far. Several teachers have had to be fired due to either harassment, assault, racism, or other reasons. There are plenty of clubs and activities to choose from, though, which is good for students, especially to put on their college resume. This school is also not very good because of all of the drama and fights, as well as how administrators handle fights.
My school is not the best but it is by far not the worst. It may have its downfalls like many troublemakers, and lack of student events but it has many upsides. The staff is great and really tries their best to connect with every student they come across.
South View was a great school athletics-wise. The athletic director was phenomenal and my coach for cross country and track was good as well. Academically, I was in the IB program and the teachers were great! The program is very challenging but so worth it in the long run. The teachers were very supportive and interactive. One thing I would change would be the discipline system. In my time at south view, there were a lot of fights and such and there were not many things done about it nor were there the correct repercussions given. Students who started the fight, at times, were given less punishment than those who defended themselves from said student(s). Also, outside of the IB program the academic process is sad since they focus solely on testing rather than teaching, which causes many students to struggle.
This high school really used to be not very good before my class went there, and we got our new principle but once that happened we raised the school to a B+ school, the cafeteria is very clean, we have a good football team (Main sport), and track team. we have a very successful IB program here that does an amazing job with preparing students for the top colleges in the state.
I loved the sports, atmosphere, family bond, interactions with everybody, you name it. South View is the best school that i personally have ever been to. There's not much i would change about south view other than better tasting school food. Other than that really there is nothing about south view that I didn't like.
My experience at South View High was unforgettable. I was coming from a private academy and was scared to enter public school but that soon went away after my first week. I had amazing teachers that I could go to if I needed to fix my grades or personal needs, amazing coaches that have guided me through my athletics and great counselors that I could talk to about early colleges and scholarships. South View High is where I made all my high school memories and meet my friends to this day.
My experience at South View hasn't been the best but I do like the teachers and other students. The teachers are always really helpful but there was an incident where there was a lack of communication or something. What happened that day was I passed out and for some reason I walked out and no one called my mom nor did they ever send a nurse up there. After that they tried to blame the teacher who's class I was in at that time because she "didnt make the report" even though she was new so how was she supposed to know.
