SVA is very community centered, and works hard to educate students of all cultural backgrounds. This school has only recently started to offer AP courses, which is good for the upcoming classes but not too good for past classes. Through community service, agriculture, and art, this school works to create creative young minds and community leaders. Students must take control of their own education in order to excel at South Valley Academy, by focusing their efforts on self improvement and community involvement.

South Valley Academy is a good school. It is a small charter school with small classes with about 15-22 students. Since the classes are small, we the students get more of the teacher's attention and help from them when we need it. We are able to get individual help, and teachers make time and are available during their office hours to offer more one-on-one help.

Another great thing is that staff focus on always improving the way of teaching. If they notice that something is not working for the students then they focus on changing that and on what they can do better to improve or the future. South Valle Academy focus on the students and prepare them for college.
South Valley Academy encourages students to make a difference in their community by letting them go out to work at real non profits and other organizations (with no pay of course, it's all volunteer). There's also a huge amount of support the students can get from teachers due to the mission statement of the school and the attitude of the teachers. The only real downside is the amount of electives, sports, and clubs offered. There are only the basics right now but I think later on in the future once the school grows more there'll be more opportunity.
