Unlike what other members of the community would say about this extremely diverse school, it was an amazing experience to attend. My teachers were helpful and motivated students to reach their highest potential. Even when taking AP courses were arduous the teachers always were willing to take an extra moment to break down the lesson and explain until we understood. I wish people knew what an amazing support system the students have in that facility.
The people there are always fun to hang around and don’t care who you are, once you’re a part of the school, you’re an archer and that’s it. The school aims at making sure everyone has an opportunity to better themselves and make something out of themselves, such as helping IB getting to college or a good education in general with its college course classes and other classes to fit the needs of every student there.
Overall I had a great time and met good friends. I enjoyed the IB program and encourage others to do it.
I like how excepting the teachers are and how caring they are. I would like more academic extracurriculars
The school overall is not the worst but it is also not the best in my personal opinion. The school is a bit lacking.
I love the diversity the school has. There is not one day something not interesting will happen. The teachers are great and they really do care about the students.
It was extremely diverse at South Side and I enjoyed my time there but they definitely could use a bit more funding.
what I liked about south side was that there was a huge diversity at our school. Our students excel on certain things due to our well managed classes, such as our great IB program we have at our school. our teachers prepare us for college by giving us extra work and practice.
My experience with South Side wasn't anything major. The second semester of my junior year I went to Anthis career academe for the rest of the year and all of my senior year and it was the best decision i made academically.
Ever since I was a freshman at South Side High School , I’ve had teachers that support me. I love how the school is very diverse and the staff are willing to help students . The most important thing about school is teachers . If you have teachers that welcomes you with open arms, you’ll feel safe. You feel like you have someone to depend on . This is how I feel about teachers at South Side . They aren’t there for you just academically . They are willing to listen to your problems that doesn’t involve school stuff. I feel well prepared for college because of these teachers .
South side is a very excellent & involved school. Most of the teachers and administration show consideration and go above and beyond to creatively teach students both academically, and about life. I love the diversity there as well. There are so many different cultures in both the students and staff. Its nice to be apart of a school like this.
South Side HS in my community has this bad rep. It is my first year here, and I have immediately come to release that this is a false statement to say this is a bad school full of bad kids. It is as my gym teacher said, just a very minuscule proportion of the kids here that give the school a bad rep. South Side is actually a very friendly and welcoming place. People just don't want to see that because the vast majority of the school is the minority population here in Fort Wayne. So, for those reading this, don't judge a place by ear, till you actually first-hand witness a place like this, you can't possibly know. I came from a majority white private school with a very good rep before this, and I would go on the record to say I feel much more welcomed here at South Side. So, don't judge a book by its cover, that statement is very much true and I have realized that in person here at my school.
South side has a very diverse environment, we are also the only school in Fort Wayne to have International Baccalaureate Program which is so amazing , I am so glad I am apart of it . School culture isn’t very appreciated and whenever we have school events and rally our school has no pride whatsoever. The teachers especially the academic teachers aren’t even qualified to teach they are just there. no one is really preparing so I as a student graduating this school year of 2020 would like that to change .
I like that Southside helps children out with school work.. they care about everyone in the school. They are willing to help or talk to you if you have any problems outside of school. I would like to see things get better such as school activities and getting students involved with things after school.
The teachers have favorites. So when it comes to finals the teachers favorite student gets an easy A for being that teachers favorite. Also the teachers will only help their favorite student when it comes for academic help. Another thing is teachers lack the ability to teach us making us not college ready, sat or act ready, and even taking our creativity.
I like my experience at South Side. All my teachers where great. They helped me whenever I needed it. They were flexible when I would need extra time with assignments. They are easy to let along with and they are funny.
South side is the most fun and involved school ever. Most of the teachers and administration really care and go above and beyond to creatively teach students both academically and about life in general. I, also, really especially love the diversity there, as well; there are so many different cultures in both the students and staff, and as a minority myself, it’s nice to be apart of a school like this. The only bad thing though is that the food sucks.
