I have attended this school since I was in first grade. It is a small school with 300-400 students. In the 2018-2019 school year we merged with a local school and became White River Valley High School. The school was a k-12 and then a pre-k-12 and is now an elementary and high school. The elementary and high school remained where South Royalton Elementary/High School once was and the middle school went to the other school. The merge caused drama between the towns but we are in the second year and tensions have subsided. The merge allowed for a slight increase in academic options. However, these options were limited by the schedule. We are on a block schedule now but have had various other schedules. The schedule is changing again next year (luckily I will not be there) to a waterfall schedule. One of my faults with the school is the inconstancy in schedules. Another fault is the lack of enforcement/punishment. There have been threats and drug offences at school resulting in nothing.

Although not much happens at SoRo, every situation is handle with caution and safety in mind. The school keeps in mind that it is both a high school and elementry so it balances the priorities just right. Drills are assessed almost every other month as well as health checks such as eye, ear, dental care. There is rarely no type of bullying in the school and has some programs to help those who need it either from bullying or drug abuse.
The administration doesn't force the policies to the students but are used only when necessary. Most all staff members participate in keeping these policies. They interfere with conflicts between students which reduces the risk of a fight or an act of bullying. There are a certain number of days a student can miss each semester until that student is not allowed certain privaledges.
