Naturally and inevitably, no school or community is perfect--each has its weaknesses and strengths. However, South Oldham has provided me with opportunities for academic growth and club involvement that many schools do not have. Our English and Social Studies departments are very good which I am thankful for since they are my favorites! I honestly believe that South Oldham is a place where we are pushed to be the best version of ourselves: academically and personally. As I enter my final year at my school, I try and remind myself of all the good that lies within our walls and work to improve the details that need a bit of refining. :)
My experience at SOHS over these past four years has been great! There are many ways that students with different interests can get connected through a network of clubs and activities. Personally, I became connected within the school through Lacrosse and Hockey. However, this is not the case for many students. Other students join or begin clubs with excellent teachers who are willing to stay after hours for their students. Overall, SOHS is one of the top public schools in the state due to its teachers and inclusiveness.
