I just graduated from here, it was a great experience when I think about it. The facilities were not the best and it was kind of gross. There were nice people everywhere though. I felt the community was really inclusive, although it may take a while to get used too. There’s always going to be bad teachers but when you find a good one, they are really really good!

My experience at South Mecklenburg High School a good one. I appreciated the diversity in the student body because it allowed me to create a bigger group of friends who all have different backgrounds. I was also grateful for the before school and after school tutoring because it gave me more opportunities to have personal time with teachers and better understand the material I was learning. South Mecklenburg offers a variety of clubs and host several school activities, which was beneficial to me because I love being involved. In the future I would hope that the bathrooms are cleaned more thoroughly or that we have more custodians since South Meck is a large school. Often times there is a lack of toilet paper in the bathrooms which is problematic considering there are nearly 3,000 students at South Meck. On a more positive note, the new principal has improved the dress code, safety, and the traffic of getting students in and out of school.
My experience here was incredible! It is a really a great school because you gain a lot. For example, I have gained new friendships, ideas, knowledge and skills just by being involved in clubs and activities. Thanks to South Mecklenburg, I now know what career I want to pursue. The Language Magnet Program has been able to attract a diverse group of students. In addition, South's faculty and staff try their best to ensure students gain a quality education while maintaining a upbeat atmosphere.
