I really liked the size of the classes and the overall environment of the school. I believe that there could be improvement involving the teachers. There are a few GREAT teachers who really know what they are doing and are amazing at their jobs, yet there are others who just read the textbook and don't fully understand the concepts themselves. The sports are amazing and they are like a second family. The sports programs are great!

South Lyon High School has an environment that only really cares about the sports teams. As an arts student, this is frustrating because we always receive poor funding and administration pays little attention to us. Also, the community at the school is very poor. Students are constantly mean to each other, and teachers are usually on a power trip over their students, causing them to feel dumb a lot of the time. However, the school runs functionally and offers a variety of possible classes to take, so students can have a choice in their educational pathway.
I like the athletics however we could use upgrades in the facilities. The inside of our school needs some upgrades in design as it looks a little dated in some areas. But, our athletic fields are newer and up to date. The academics at South Lyon High School are pretty good as well. Teachers try to prepare us for college with different styles of teaching and certain activities. I like that my school offers dual enrollment through local community colleges, so I can get a feel of what a college course would be like. Overall, I would say the time I have had at SLHS was good with fun sporting events and a lot of good teachers that care about the students
