My name is Isela Cervantes, I attend South Hills High School in Texas. I can say my high school is a pretty cool school. There are many clubs and activities were each person can fit in. My personal experience attending at this school has been good. We have strong pride for our school. I can say we do have some of the best programs. We have TAFE, AVID, Business classes, Culinary Arts, Graphic Design and many more programs. If i could change anything from my school it would be the carpets and renew the restrooms. Maybe some of the office attendance ladies attitudes. They are rude and dont explain things when you need help. The students do a better job at helping one another. I would also like to us all grade levels to help each grade level before, and give them advice. Tell them about our experience being in that grade, teachers, grades, work. I think this will make us stronger and more untied. Other then that i would recommend students to come here, its a great school for academics.

South hills has improved me in many aspects in life but being a senior in high school and on the verge of graduating, I have noticed it still needs major improvements as far as academic readiness and the overall school culture. I have realized there is no school spirit here and limited resources on college readiness as well. The way i have grown as a person i could have easily gained that experience from anybody else. But something a student cannot control is the stability of a school and its environment. The community feeling here doesn't give the unity feeling a school is supposed to have. The way this school is presented in online reviews and towards the public is deceiving because it only shows the school's "good side". It doesn't show the school dangers and lockdowns we've had in the past year . Not saying that the school can control crime outside of school but the surrounding environment can influence the kids and students attending this school.
During my 4 year tenure at South Hills I was able to be a part of something big. The school flourished in academics, arts, and sports in such a short period of time that every one wanted to be a Scorpion. By the end of my junior year the school was over populated and had to expand due to all the interest in the school; there are still some students on the waiting list. Overall South Hills was a awesome school and I couldn't more proud than to be a Scorpion alumni.
If I had to change anything about the school it would be it's size, to accommodate the incoming students for the following school years.
