There are teachers that I wonder how they got a teaching job, but there are some great teachers. I was lucky to get five fantastic teachers in my four years at South. But the bad thing is that they don't get enough credit for being a great teacher.

First with the bad teachers, I got stuck with this pre calculus teacher that was probably the worst teacher I've ever encountered. Sweet lady, horrible explainer. Her teaching style was for the students who did not know how to do the problem explain how to do it and her not even correct or explain the problem, then go onto the lesson plan. The other teachers weren't as bad but most teachers did not care about anything. Overall, I give her a one out of ten.

The good teachers were all sweet, felt like they genuinely cared about their students getting a good grade and actually know what they are doing! For example, my senior year, anatomy class. She explains everything very well making sure you know it, an actual fun class to be in, and a class that I actually enjoy being in. Overall, I give her a ten out of ten.
It's the friends you make that make South an enjoyable place. South gives many opportunities for fun and spirited activities but it isn't fun unless you have friends participating with you, because otherwise, the activities seem meaningless. A great thing about South is that the school is diverse enough to not have a social hierarchy or social/racial tensions. However, South can improve its administration attitude regarding student success-they need to start informing students about college and the future in a way that all students are able to hear, because many times, news travels very slow and many students do not get the benefit of hearing certain things unless they make the effort to find out themselves.
I enjoyed my time at South High. I was apart of the volleyball team and as an athlete I enjoyed how involved the student body was in sporting events. A lot of my teachers were great, I feel like most of them helped to prepare me for college academically. If I were to change anything, it would be educating students in life skills. For example, money management is an important life skill that not many high school students are exposed to, and if classes as such were available it would help to prepare students for life after high school. Anther example would be a home economics class. If these classes were available when I was in high school, it would have helped to prepare me for independency.
