My experience at South High school was amazing! I had an awesome experience and it was always a great time to be and a great place to academically learn something new everyday. I always loved the fact that the school was so diverse and there were people from all around the world. I always had funny listening to their refugee stories and how they came to America. That's was my favorite part of being a South rebel. I wouldn't change anything at this school because from the teachers to students the school is perfect all the way around.

I am currently a sophomore at South High School and during the two years that I have attended I feel really satisfied with everything that South has offered me. Everything you need to be college ready and prepared for life is in South. South has great teachers that dedicate their time into students, it also provides great resources and education. All these great resources are found by students that put in the effort and time into their future and are willing to succeed. Those who don't find interest in their future usually don't see these great advantages and resources. Although these students tend to make the wrong decisions and don't think about their future, South puts in all its effort into motivating kids to make better decisions, invest in their future, and become better people. The food may not be that great, South has the best teachers, counselors, staff, coaches, janitors, lunch ladies, culture, diversity, support, and even the best views.
With the end of my junior year approaching quickly, I've begun thinking about my school and the impact it's had on me. One thing that I'm 100% proud of is that South HS is the most diverse high school in all of the Denver Public School District. I'd even go as far to say in all of Colorado. There are kids here that come from all corners of the world and excel in AP and Honors classes. Being exposed to this level of diversity definitely, expands my cultural awareness and makes me a more educated person. Our academics and teachers also do an amazing job of preparing the student body for college or whatever path they want to take after graduation. One thing that I'd change about South is our location. While we are located right next to beautiful Wash Park, we aren't really near anything interesting or urban like other DPS high schools.
