I loved my experiences at SEHS and the wonderful environment it offers! My school offers a welcoming, positive and supportive environment for students, teachers and staff. South Elgin offered me great resources, especially for college readiness. I made some of my best friends at South Elgin, and will remember the memories forever.
I loved attending South Elgin High School because most of the faculty and staff members that I interacted with were kind and helpful. This school dealt with problems as fast as possible and the environment (from my personal experience) was friendly and open-armed. I hope to see more involvement of different cultural groups and less emphasis on sports in our school advertisements. Other than that, I loved my experience and appreciate everyone who has helped the student body at South Elgin High School.
overall sehs isn't bad! a wide variety of classes are offered, there are plenty of guidance resources available, and new clubs/activities are always popping up. it is generally rated and talked about as one of the top high schools in the district, but physically it is a pain to get around because of the massive student population. while it seems possible in theory, a 5 minute passing period doesn't allow enough time to cross the school to get to the next class on time. and as with most schools, teachers will be either hit or miss depending on subject and patience levels, but most of my teachers are friendly and helpful. all in all it's a pretty enjoyable school.
