I love South El Monte High School. The teachers and staff are wonderful to the students. I enjoy having my classes, here at SEM. I ask questions and they help me. Or when I feel negative I go to the wellness center and it helps me feel all better. All the students know each other and they are all so very nice, caring, smart, funny and so much more. It is too bad that I am a senior because I will be leaving and going to a 4-year college, thanks to the college center, which helped me out so much, with my applications and so much more, including money. I will miss the school, the staff, the memories, and my classmates.
I loved the teachers! They all really just want to see their students succeed and will help you if you need it! The principal is also very nice! I do wish there were more plant-based options but that's not too big a deal when bringing your own lunch. I put a 2/5 score on diversity because our student population is mostly only Hispanic but that wasn't really too much of a surprise since we are in a mostly Hispanic and Asian community nothing to do with the school really!
South El Monte High School is a school that has a wide diversity of students and accepts them as they are. Personally, I love that they are not discriminatory towards any race or ethnicity. They have amazing staff and students who make you feel welcome and appreciated. The teachers that I have met have been really life-changing because they treat you warmly and invite you to the school with respect and kindness. There are also school events that are fun to attend. They invite students from other schools to join their school events where there are DGs, food, and music. South El Monte High also has a variety of clubs and sports where students can choose from. The coaches try their best to make sure that the students are striving to perfect their goals. It is a school where you are welcome and a place where excellence is always one of their goals and even their achievement.
