As an overall school, my stay at South Early College High School has been fantastic. If it wasn't for the electives, robotics, activities, classes, etc then it wouldn't be a school of tech! Deferentially an amazing experience, and would recommend anyone looking for a small school, with early college opportunities!

Offer dual credit with HCC so students are able to get an associate this puts them ahead but there isn't much else. Administrations performance is below average, for example, withholding core classes from students despite them meeting the needs necessary, no communication to student body about events, meeting, or anything of that nature but blam student body for not participating, and maintain a state of disorganization for several years promising change no action has been taken other than fundraising and grade lvl group chats (these chats are not an understanding or a fully safe place to communicate to one's peers). The administration needs new leadership but teachers, for the most part, are exceptional. No funing for sports b(asketball and soccer team) players and coaches take donations and chip in with their own money and supplies. Other activities are a band, an art club, and a debate team.
When I first entered South Early College High School, I was confused and worried about taking college classes while simultaneously taking High School classes. However, thanks to the friendly environment and focus on college readiness, I eventually took on these classes confidently. The High School provides AVID classes that teach students how to be more organized with their work so that they will be successful. Having the HCC South campus next to the school is immensely useful as it gives High School students direct contact with most of their teachers on the college side of things.
The classes within the High School itself are very good thanks to the teachers and staff. Most of them are more than willing to help students with their problems and make sure they are able to complete their work. Advisers help students in their classes and give them time to do work from other classes in the middle of the day, which is very helpful when it comes to all the work students are given.
