South Decatur Junior/Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.48 out of 5 65 reviews
Throughout my time of going there I have learned many things. One main thing is that listening is a rather important portion of learning. The best part of going to this school for me was that I was, for the most part, in classes where I knew everyone. If anything would need to change, I would say that the homework expectations are too high. I understand that high level classes such as AP are supposed to have 3 hours of homework per, but that is, in my opinion, too much. This isn't only my school, but many others aswell. I know that college readiness is important, but burning out students before college isn't good either. I also know I haven't yet experienced college, so maybe it is the same, and if that's true then oh well I suppose. Many people are scared of robots becoming humans, but not many seem to worry about humans becoming robots. Once again, that is a philosophical thought so it doesn't really pertain to the review, so therefore, go to South. Its super great.
I loved the close-knit environment and one-on-one opportunities with teachers! The staff worked hard to help each individual student succeed. There are many opportunities to get involved in clubs, sports, and the community.
South Decatur is an amazing school with crazy amounts of Cougar pride! I felt as though I belonged among the school with how connected we were. Although being a small school, South Decatur makes that up by insuring that everyone gets the proper education they deserve and need before they move forward in the next chapter of their lives. Moving on I would like to see South Decatur maintain its credibility and continue to offer the best education for future students just like it was offered for me!
