I loved being a student at South Christian. The community atmosphere and genuine care for each other is unusual for most high schools. The students are friendly. Sporting events are well attended, and the teams often are very successful. When I got to college, I realized I was well prepared. South Christian expects excellence from their students and offers a good variety of courses with many Advanced Placement options. The teachers truly care about each student; not just academically but about their whole lives. The involvement from both students and parents is greater than the average high school. I would recommend South Christian to anyone!

I have attended South Christian for all of high school. In my time there, my teachers and fellow students have helped me grow in my faith. With programs like campaigners and Young Life, we are given many opportunities to get involved with other Christ believers outside of regular school hours. The newly adopted teaching style, Teaching for Transformation, brings elements of Christianity into our regular learning. With these different Christian concepts, we are taught how we can be true Christian role models in the real world, not just in comfortable settings that we are used to. Field trips, like visiting with illegal immigrants, constantly remind us of how good God is, and how we should show that goodness to everyone else that we may encounter. Students are encouraged to pray with each other before sports competitions, and theatrical performances. Even though we are never forced, I have seen how willing students are to pray in front of others and declare their love for the Lord.
All 3 of our children have gone through, are going through and will go through this school and its feeder schools. The community is tight knit and supportive. Christ is clearly central to this place and it flows through into the academics, arts and sports. The amount of parental involvement and volunteering is unreal. I grew up in a private Christian school elsewhere and it was excellent as well but I think this community puts more emphasis on a Christ centered life and fellowship with community than anything I have encountered. I love this school and what it feeds them and hope my kids will say the same when they look back. The only thing I see that is concerning is how important sports have become. They are fun, but they are often put above other things.
