I loved the flexibility of South Carolina Connections Academy. I attended the charter school from most of 6th grade to graduation and I loved it! Attending this school gave me the opportunity to graduate from high school a year early and I was able to get accepted into a great university. This school allows students to learn at their own pace, work ahead, and pursue interests, all while learning from home! It gives homeschooling a whole new meaning!

Overall, I had a great experience with SCCA. It has been very challenging and has helped me prepare for college more than any other school I have attended. The main advantages of being enrolled in a virtual school are a more flexible schedule and being able to learn from anywhere you have access to a computer and Wi-Fi (which is especially beneficial for people who travel). All of my teachers have been extremely accessible, friendly and willing to help their students in any way they could. Additionally, SCCA sets up multiple activities, dances, local tutoring sessions, field trips, college touring, and other social events during the school year in various locations throughout the state. One thing I believe could be improved would be the numbers and locations of the testing sites. More testing sites would decrease the commute time potentially allowing for more well-rounded testers. Ultimately, I would recommend SCCA to others because of my positive experience with the school.
I have attended SCCA for 4 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way. The schools provide a positive, flexible, learning atmosphere that you can't go wrong. The Livelessons provide an opportunity for you to review material with your teachers as well as getting to know the other students. If you feel you're too social to join an online school then think again! There are cool field trips related to schoolwork and some just for fun activities. Best of all they've been hosting a prom for 4 years now! It's an amazing experience that I'm proud to say I've gotten to participate in.
