Overall, I enjoyed my time at South Aiken. I believe that I will go into college prepared. The counselors are wonderful and there are a lot of great teachers. Administration is great as well. I believe that the school culture is kind of low. It seems that lower than 1/3 of the students have any school spirit, so not many people participate in activities, which I feel that there needs to be more of. I feel that there may need to be more incentive to participate in the activities. Also, when there are fights, our hour of lunch gets divided into halves and we get split up from our friends. While I’m glad that there is disciplinary action being taken, I do not really appreciate that it gets taken away from everyone rather than the people who were involved in the fight or who were misbehaving. There are so many students that go to South Aiken who have never been in a fight and who behave, but they have to reap the consequences instead. But other than that, I enjoyed being at South Aiken.
My school is one of the best schools in the county academically and athletically. I believe that for SAT scores, we're competing for number one spot with another school in the district. Our athletic teams are great, our football team is one of the best in the district and our wrestling won many district championships and gone to state championships. The teachers are great, some of them with great characters and good at teaching their respective subjects. The school has great opportunities and memories for the faculty and the students. What I like to change is for the school to be remodel soon after I graduate. The school building haven't change since it was first open in the 1980s. I want them to fix up the restrooms and improve classrooms so there is a great environment for future students.
It was a great experience it helped me to take college credits and develop skill that could help me later in life. I was able to graduate a year early and start a successful life early as well. I feel the extracurricular classes like baking or culinary helps to give you extra credits and certificates that could be used while still and school and even more after school. It helped me to get a invitation from Johnson and Wales! The teachers help as much as they can by letting you retake tests , using power hour to study, and giving one on one time to who needs it. They also have an alliance with career center where you can get certified for nursing, cosmetology, and much more! Students can also join NJROTC, it’s a good way to start your military life. Also, you get a scholarship just for being in the class and participating 9-12 grade. South Aiken is a great school hopefully you were able to enjoy the experience like I was . Schools really do help in the long run. Have a beautiful day !!
