High school is academically rigorous and offers a lot of opportunities to get involved. Surrounding area is rural and very safe. The student body is supportive by participating in unified sports and holding a THON to support pediatric cancer patients.

They have also replaced the community service senior project with a mentorship requirement which helps students begin to narrow down a college major before committing to a college.

On the downside, communication between faculty and students can be improved and there could be more diverse course offerings in world languages, entreprenurship and computer software and programming.

Souderton was, for me, a good place to grow. With great academics, and a diverse range of activities, Soudy is solid. One thing that stands out to me, is that there are very supportive teachers, if you care to seek them out. They seem to be hidden, nestle between other teachers (who are not as supportive/kind). Something I would love to see change, includes weeding out the uncaring teachers without a passion for what they do. Another aspect I would like to see changed at Souderton is the idea that you have to get involved in activities and make a huge change in the world to be happy. For all four years at Souderton, it is greatly stressed that students should be involved and make changes. Yet sometimes people are happier NOT participating in extracurriculars. I was in marching band for my first three years, and my fourth year has been the best one yet! I am a much happier person, I am not forcing myself to become involved in activities just to fulfill the administrations wishes.
My overall high school experience has been positive. I have enjoyed all my years at Souderton. I appreciate the block scheduling and the different pathways to achieve your diploma. The course selection is enormous and very diverse. A student can take a pre-engineering class to a graphic design course. The school offers many different clubs and if you don't find a specific club, the school encourages you to start a new one. My school is recognized as a National Banner Unified Champion School. Souderton offers bocce and track teams for students that are what you would call typical and also special students. The atmosphere is very positive, friendly and overall inclusive of all students. The Principals, teachers, and staff are always willing to give support and are persons to talk to and who are there to listen. Souderton Area High School is a great place to receive your education.
