I enjoyed my time at Sonora High School! Being involved in numerous extra activities, I am thankful that my teachers were flexible and understood my schedule. Great school with several different paths.
Throughout my four years at sonora, my favorite part was that it has always felt safe, and I knew that there would always be someone I could trust there, whether it be a teacher, counselor, or other student. Since my first year there, everyone has been friendly to each other despite differences and not knowing one another. Something that I would like to see change however is the school spirit. Even though everyone is incredibly friendly, I feel that the school spirit isn’t that high because Administration doesn’t always allow certain in school activities that other surrounding schools would allow. This is because Sonora is incredibly focused on academics so this could be seen as a positive as well.
Very nice overall, no large, overarching complaints from me. The only issues I had were minor nitpicks about certain teachers' classroom rules and how my first 2 animation teachers only lasted a year. I thought it to be strange as they did a very good job at explaining the basic concepts and assisting us through any issues we had. Then on the 3rd year they completely removed the animation classes and replaced them with game design.
