I went to Somerset for all four years of high school and it was a really nice school. I liked it because it was smaller than traditional public school and I liked the way the class schedule works. Because it is so close to IRSC Pruitt Campus it was also super easy to do Duel Enrollment. However, I did not appreciate the fact that they added the middle school to the high school. It increased the number of student and I had originally choose Somerset because it was smaller. Middle school children are also sometimes put in the same class as the high school kids and the middle school children, because of their age and maturity level, often caused disruptions. Teachers are nice though and want you to succeed and the guidance staff work hard to provide lots of college opportunities for students.

This school has provide a safe home feel for many students. It provides easy access to dual enrollment for its student from IRSC which is right down the street to Doral college which is an online college based in Doral, Florida. The schools state testing can top all scores in the surrounding schools from our geometry to our US history scores. The teachers make every student feel safe and at home and with this school having a limited amount of students teachers can focus one on one with students especially those in need of help.
At first I though the school was so small. At the time they were using 2 converged classrooms as the lunchroom with a small pickup window right outside that door for lunch line service. When school actually started, the makeshift lunch room had been turned into the Spanish/French classes. The students were to eat outside. This was great during the warm months, but that's it. In the middle of my Junior year the entire school was made to walk (during the school day) the short distance from our school building to a completely different and much bigger building which would now be our new school. That same year we had also been able to start the school's first all girls soccer team. And then senior year rolled around. With all of the extra space due to general lack of high schoolers, we suddenly had middle schoolers going to classes with us, roaming the halls, and eating lunch with us, side by side.
