Spending my entire high school career at Somerset has given me so many opportunities through studies and other opportunities offered by the school. The primary focus is academics, however the support and encouragement shown for students to also participate in sports, clubs and extra-curricular activities is so important to address as well. Somerset helps students become well-rounded as well as prepared for the real world.

The school has its ups and downs, as any school district will. Students are supported in most endeavors they may attempt to become involved with in our small community. The student body and faculty are not always as fluid or as friendly as they could be, but there is an effort being made to improve the students' relationships with another, as well as respectful relationships with teachers and other members of faculty.
Somerset has been an interesting time these four years. The school offers many classes ranging from STEM/STEAM-based classes like Intro to Robotics or Coding, to Trade School classes, such as Welding or Culinary. Overall, SASD is what you expect of a highly populated rural town's high school. We're passionate about our sports teams, both girls and boys, and we take pride in our school.
