what i like about somerset academy is that it is very family based everyone likes to see each other succeed. I've attended somerset since i was in 1st grade and am still attending as a junior and will be graduating from there! yes the school is great one thing i would like to see change is the class/ elective options. i think they should have more choices that connect to what someone may be after graduating. this year they actually added a couple of courses like a paramedics class, early childhood education and next year they are adding photography which i think is pretty cool but they should add more classes like home ec, culinary , those type of classes

Needs more programs and support for students. Has some great teachers for upperclassmen! Some of the office staff could be better at supporting students. The campus isn't very big but its a good size for students to learn and make friends with classmates. Only excellent for a select amount of sports, so research beforehand. Overall, I've had a great experience and been accepted to some great schools.
This school is a good school compared to the alternatives in the area, with small classroom settings and a majority of good teachers. However, it is the charter school economic policies that hurt this school, from the transition from a third party food source to the generic school district food distributor, that made us go from a high quality salad bar to chicken nuggets and one other hot option everyday. Administration also took over two months to get new AP Gov text books so everyone could have their own, but had no hesitation in purchasing a giant statue of a cougar and wrapping their school busses by a professional car painter. Overall, this school is clearly driven by private profit and run an agenda that often supercedes what is best for the students, but still I prefer this over my local public school.
