As a freshman, I found it easy to get into the swing of things at school. The teachers I had this year were phenomenal and I enjoyed every class. The teachers were also dedicated and I could see that they loved teaching students. They try their best to help their students when they need help and go on long discussions in class with topics related to ones that we learn, such as experiments that were made or current events in the news, which I think was very important as I became more aware of what was going on and I now check the news more often on my phone. The students at school are okay, most of my classmates are nice and love to crack jokes once in a while in class, which makes it interesting and fun. There are also many clubs and events that unite the school, the most popular one being during homecoming and spirit week. I look forward to the next few years!

OVERALL:
RATING: GOOD (3.5 Stars)
- education is really good if you apply yourself, take harder classes, and actually care
- most teachers are pretty good, a couple are concerning
- social atmosphere can be a little too white and wealthy at times but for the most part pretty good
- resources are there you just need to reach out and use them
- Administration cares about student but does a trash job at showing it
- Administration is a mess, their egos get in the way of progress and there is way too much drama especially in the counseling department
- Helicopter parents exist in droves and NY is competitive this school isn't an exception
- funding doesn't usually go where it is needed

RATING: GOOD (3.5 Stars)

If you find your people, and take advantage of all Somers has to offer, it is really good, just know that vaping, drug use, administration, and privilege tend to be the worst problems.
Somers High School does a very good job of combining academic rigor with excellent athletics. The school has many Honors, AP and IB courses. There is an abundance of clubs and volunteer opportunities. The arts are all well-represented, with choir, band, jazz band, orchestra, dance and theater having lots of active participants. The athletics are great. Our boys soccer team just went to the state final again (won a couple of years back), and a couple of years ago we won the state football championship. Girls soccer also won the state championship.

I love the principal, Mark Bayer, and the support administrators. The teachers are largely excellent. The guidance counselors are mostly all very helpful. The college and career center is very helpful too. Both of children have had an exceptional experience at Somers High school.
