I was a student at Solorsano Middle School several years ago, but I remember many good aspects of it. There were many academic opportunities and I was able to participate in after school sports.
The school campus is very nice. However the teachers do not help the students reach their full potential. I'm in grade 8 and I excel in math. I am a grade 10 math level. My teachers hold me back and do not help me to progress. I am in accelerated classes and most of the kids are not at an accelerated level. They just have good test scores but they do not do work or pay attention in class so the whole class has to be held back in order to accommodate them. The kids switch classes by themselves and do not get reprimanded for it. The school needs teachers that set rules. The principal, Mrs. Walker is fabulous but her staff could be greatly improved.
On my first day of sixth grade the yard duty named Maria made me cry. The teacher Ms.Yager picked on me and always chose one student to pick on every year. Overall I would say this school should change almost everything because I didn't learn much and the staff is so mean
