Everyone always says bigger is better, but when it comes to overall education and the wellness for students, a small school is where to go, and Solon Springs School District is just the place! The relationships that are formed with all of the staff members and students is honestly a beautiful thing. I don't think of my teachers and peers as just random people, we're all a big family, and we all care about each other and want the overall best for everyone. That's what a good school is, where we can be ourselves and feel at home.

If you have a good name in the community, the office staff/principal/guidance counselors/etc. can be helpful. However, if your family has a bad reputation or is generally not accepted you don't always get the best attitude. I know the school is currently with a different principal than I had in high school so times may have changed! But in my personal opinion, it's just the typical small-town drama. Policies can be kind of a big deal depending on the situation and (once again) what your last name is. I know quite a few years back, several basketball students were caught drinking at state and several did not get in trouble because of their last names. So once again, usual small town stuff.
What I really liked about Simon Springs is that you get to have a lot of one-no-one time with your teachers, where in other school you don't. They are really based on school spirit and they give a lot of opportunities to lead. What I didn't like was how leanient they are on getting to class on time and on leaving the building because you have a doctor's note. They say that if you have a problem that you should get a doctor's note. So they use that as a free pass.
