Smithtown High School East is a high school that academically and socially challenges students to be the best they can be. Teachers at this school are very engaging and knowledgeable about the subjects they teach. They speak with passion to help students achieve excellence in their studies. The school also offers a wide range of advanced courses and extracurricular activities, which provides students with ample opportunities to scout their interests and succeed academically. The only point in which the school lacks is the school spirit. It is truly important for schools to create an environment where all students feel connected and high-spirited to be a part of a schools community. I believe a few ways to help see more spirit throughout the halls are allowing more student-led activities, fun events that involve everyone, and more positive promotion of clubs and sports. Doing things like this could promote a stronger sense of belonging for all students.
I think Smithtown has done a pleasant job at what they do. Teachers need to do some work on making sure we understand the activity’s before we move on to the next topic and make sure that they give us the same amount of respect they want us to give them but otherwise i feel very secure in learning. The food can be better they turned everything to whole wheat and all the good snacks you need to buy from the school store . Other then that they are doing a great job!
Smithtown High School East, besides the learning done in classes, has given me lots of experience with making friends and building relationships. Throughout my time in high school I've both gained and lost friends, had reliable teachers, and had my worldview altered—which isn't even an exaggeration. I found out what I wanted to do in life, and the courses offered help me on my way to achieving it. The unique course offerings have even helped me land an internship. There sre times, however, where I feel coursework is overwhelming, or could be taught better, but I am not in a position to say that I know better. I am averse to certain teachers for personal reasons, but I am glad to say that I haven't had any major pitfalls.
