Smith is committed to student's learning, as there are plenty of chances for students in low income families to succeed. There have also been good resources to help with college, or even just if I need somewhere to go talk. It is a pretty good school, the few downsides are that you can tell some teachers are only here for a paycheck and don't genuinely care if a student succeeds. Only some, not all. Also, even if you are ahead on credits, you can't take some classes off for your junior or senior year.

At Smith, they care about your achievements and safety. Achievement wise they want you to be an overachiever. They want to strive for success and be the best you can be, but be yourself while doing it. Things that can change is the phone policy nad the dress code. The phone is we can't be on our phone from 8:10 to 3:35 -the beginning and end of school. They don't give us freedom in our choices phone wise that is. Also, we have free dress but it's like we don't. Everything is to short or too baggy or not long enough like they might as well give us a dress code. High school is supposed to be about expressing our personality thru our outfit or thru our hairdos, but every time we try to express our selves it not good enough. They are putting some students confidence level down without knowing it.
I really liked that the upper-level courses had VERY qualified teachers, if not overqualified. The staff was never an excuse for anyone's failure. However, the school lacks a proper discipline system. Very little disciplinary action is taken when a student does wrong, effecting the learning enviorment of some other students.
