My experience at Slaughter Community Charter School was amazing. The environment was calm, friendly and inviting. The school is a melting pot of diversity and culture. Any ethnicity you can think of was there! I hope that in the future the school adds more extra curricular activities. We only had cheer and football and a few clubs like BETA. With such a diverse group of students, they should have a diverse group of clubs. I also hope now that the school has been expanded upon, more students can join. It's such a warm environment, and the classes are academically challenging. All children deserve to go there.

When I transferred to Slaughter, my entire life changed. I came from a school with almost 20 kids in my grade to a school with hardly 40 in my grade. At Slaughter, I made the greatest memories. I had friends who turned out to be more like family. Teachers who were always there to listen. A faculty who always made sure we had what we needed. And coaches who became my bestfriends. Slaughter is a great school. As a college prep school, they go over and beyond to give us the best education we deserve. The school as a whole is one big family striving for greatness and accepting nothing less!
The rules may be strict and all but it certainly keeps the students in order. We have a new building that I really love and I feel it is much better than before. The teachers are mostly great (although they seem to have a problem finding decent math teachers ) and are very nice people over all. We are one of the top schools in the state, grade wise, and have a no tolerance policy go fighting, which I very much condone. The sports and extracurriculars are entertaining but we don’t have a drama club, art classes, a band, or a decent robotics club. I love my school very much but I would love it more if it had a drama club, we have a stage, many fundraising opportunities, and even a teacher willing to invest in it... I don’t see how it’s that hard. We did have a “Journey to Careers” course as a grade this year, it did not help. If anything it made me more confused about my career. Drop it. It’s a waste of time, money, and energy in my opinion.
